our commitment to diversity and inclusivity

At Aquarylic, we are dedicated to art and color. Our passion is reflected in the creativity and joy of experimentation with which we develop new colors and products. We firmly believe that art and color can evoke emotions and bring joy.

“We don’t think in black and white, we think in color.”

Art and color are universal means of expression that know no boundaries – neither in terms of gender, sexual orientation, identity, nor origin. They are a reflection of the diversity of our world, and we are proud to promote this diversity through our products and our interactions with each other.

Our communication reflects these values. That’s why we advocate for an inclusive and respectful language that addresses and includes all people, regardless of their gender. The use of the gender colon (Gendergap) in the German language is one way to achieve this goal. It’s a conscious decision to show that we stand for diversity and equality.

With the gender colon, we make a strong statement for inclusivity and equality. It is our way of saying: “You are seen, heard, and appreciated here, just as you are.” We believe that this form of expression contributes to increased awareness of gender diversity and emphasizes the importance of respect and acceptance for all people.

In Pride Month and beyond, we are proud to show our values of diversity and inclusivity through the use of the gender colon. It’s our way of showing the world that we are committed to an environment in which every person can show their true colors. We are committed to constantly learning, adapting and implementing strategies that promote an inclusive and accepting environment. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is not a one-time initiative, but an ongoing journey that we are excited to embark on.

The gender colon, or “Gendergap”, is a method used in German to make language more gender-inclusive. In German, many nouns are gendered (i.e., they have a male and female form). The gender colon is used to include all genders, not just male and female, but also non-binary and diverse identities. For example, “Studenten” would be male students, “Studentinnen” would be female students, but “Student:innen” would be a gender-neutral term that includes all students, regardless of their gender identity. This is a way to make language more inclusive and respectful towards all gender identities.
