Aquarylic Painter

„As a glazing artist, I work in many layers. Considering their high pigmentation on the one hand, and their special flow properties on the other hand, Aquarylic colors are ideal for this.”

about the artist

Angelika Domenig is a freelance artist, designer, author, lecturer and entrepreneur. She is passionate about painting, where she devotes herself to the theme of abstract realism, and she also loves to give workshops and pass on her knowledge to her participants. For Angelika, art means to reflect herself in her works and to be able to convey her own feelings to the viewer.

aquarylic masterclass

Since 2020, Angelika has been offering the aquarylic master class in her studio in Dornbirn. In several modules she teaches the aquarylic technique and promotes the creativity of her participants and brings them artfully to a new level.

“Having worked in the field of courses for years, I decided to offer an aquarylic masterclass. I knew that intensive work with each individual artist makes a significant increase and fast artistic development possible. What is learned is implemented, trained and intensified under my constant guidance.” – Angelika

her art movement

Angelika defines abstract realism as combining two opposing elements – on the one hand, abstract art, the artistic style in which nothing real or representational can be recognized anymore, and on the other, realism, the more or less accurate representation of reality.

Between these two counterparts there is a huge colorful and diversified world with a myriad of gradations. The core and origin of abstract realism is a concrete scene, a real situation or idea.

Unlike abstract painting, abstract realism always has a real subject or idea. This central theme is then reduced, diminished, distorted and alienated, while the object still remains recognizable. Things that aren’t important are left out, the surroundings are blurred. Consequently, the representation doesn’t represent reality in a realistic or photographically accurate manner.

It is exactly here that the viewer is called upon. Viewers are encouraged to use their imaginations to recognize realities, memories, and thoughts. The viewer should be given the opportunity to make use of his/her own fantasy and imagination.

„When combining the acrylic color and aquarylic color, I am always amazed about the unpredictable things happening on my canvas. This is especially important to me, since I always paint in conjunction with coincidences.”

Anke Ryba

Acrylic Painter

„I am particularly fond of the white chalk paint, the putty and the blue shades.”

Andrea Rozorea

Pigment Painter

„Colors are very vibrant, and it's economical to use, plus what I especially like is that it can be used together with other colors, such as watercolors.”

Christel Neumann

Watercolorist

„I really enjoy working with textures. To bring them out effectively, I use multiple glazes, and for this, the highly pigmented Aquarylic paints are the best choice. I adore the new shades of blue, but I also use the chalk paint in every painting. The colors dry to a beautiful silky sheen, and I no longer need any varnish. Wonderful.”

Renata Schepmann

Artist

„As a thrifty Swabian, I must say the quality is convincing and the colors are worth every penny. As a convinced oil painter, I must say, they are no less vibrant than oil paints.”

Markus Rack

Oil Painter

„I am fascinated by the extraordinary color palette, the rich brilliance of the colors, love working with the stone powder and this great chalk paint white.”
