„When combining the acrylic color and aquarylic color, I am always amazed about the unpredictable things happening on my canvas. This is especially important to me, since I always paint in conjunction with coincidences.”

Anke Ryba

about the artist

Anke Ryba, who is based in Baden-Württemberg/Germany, is known for her expressive and powerful paintings. Her artworks are composed using many layers of color. Accompanied by coincidence, she always creates new compositions. She thus creates two-dimensional and spatial energies in an abstract visual language.

her technique

In her 120 m² studio in Baden-Württemberg/Germany, the artist gives free rein to her creativity. There she works mostly on large-format canvases and uses acrylic, aquarylic and oil paints, as well as putty and stone powder, always everything perfectly coordinated. She paints in abstract gestures and pours lightly or even heavily diluted with water paint on the canvas. Through skillful color combinations, she manages to create powerful artworks. Her ideas arise in the process of painting. This is particularly evident in the fact that during the painting process on the canvas she spontaneously allows new ideas for paintings and she is open to intuitive artistic gestures from beginning to end. This is the advantage in informal, process-oriented painting.

about aquarylic

“Colors are the foundation of my abstract art on canvas. In my early days I painted with very different colors and tried many techniques. In this process over the years I realized that there was a big difference in brilliance and finish. Often I was disappointed by the result.

Then, in a workshop in Austria, I came into contact with aquarylic color for the first time. The colors fascinated me from the beginning and today I would not want to miss them. What makes the color so special for me?

When combining their acrylic and aquarylic colors, I am always amazed at the unpredictable things that happen. For me, this is particularly important, because I always accompany the coincidence in my way of working. The beautiful aquarylic shades can be mixed with each other and lightened wonderfully with their white chalk color. I’ve finally found the colors I’ve been looking for for a long time. aquarylic can no longer be missing in my color assortment!

„As a glazing artist, I work in many layers. Considering their high pigmentation on the one hand, and their special flow properties on the other hand, Aquarylic colors are ideal for this.”

Angelika Domenig

Aquarylic Painter

„I am particularly fond of the white chalk paint, the putty and the blue shades.”

Andrea Rozorea

Pigment Painter

„Colors are very vibrant, and it's economical to use, plus what I especially like is that it can be used together with other colors, such as watercolors.”

Christel Neumann

Watercolorist

„I really enjoy working with textures. To bring them out effectively, I use multiple glazes, and for this, the highly pigmented Aquarylic paints are the best choice. I adore the new shades of blue, but I also use the chalk paint in every painting. The colors dry to a beautiful silky sheen, and I no longer need any varnish. Wonderful.”

„As a thrifty Swabian, I must say the quality is convincing and the colors are worth every penny. As a convinced oil painter, I must say, they are no less vibrant than oil paints.”

Markus Rack

Oil Painter

„I am fascinated by the extraordinary color palette, the rich brilliance of the colors, love working with the stone powder and this great chalk paint white.”
